The Special Assistant to President Bola Tinubu on Social Media, Dada Olusegun, has dismissed reports alleging that President Bola Tinubu has converted from Islam to Christianity.

Olusegun made the clarification in a statement shared on X on Thursday, May 28, describing the claims as false.

“Please disregard the video circulating claiming PBAT has converted. It is a lie,” he wrote.

He further stated that President Tinubu has always practised Islam while continuing to support his wife, who is a Christian pastor.

“President Tinubu has always been a Muslim, while proudly supporting his wife, who is a Pastor. This unique interfaith harmony in his own home is what he brings to national leadership, which is unity and not conversion,” he added.

The clarification followed the circulation of a viral video alleging that President Tinubu attended a church programme and requested prayers over the country’s economic challenges.

The video also claimed that the president went to the altar seeking prayers regarding his administration’s efforts to stabilise the economy.
