Nigerian woman, Florence Friday, reportedly called off her wedding due to her fiancé’s refusal to move out of his family home and rent an apartment. Contrary to initial reports indicating a last-minute cancellation, her cousin, Anny Roberts, clarified that the decision was made over a month before the scheduled date.

Roberts explained that Florence’s fiancé, Morgak James Seri, had not fully paid her bride price, yet insisted on proceeding with the wedding. Additionally, there were financial disagreements, including a request for money to book a wedding gown, which led to tension between the couple.

Initially, Morgak agreed to cover the costs for the wedding dress after some negotiation. However, Florence later demanded that he move out of his family home and rent an apartment, which caused further discord. Despite reaching an agreement to live in the family home for two months before finding an apartment, tensions persisted.

Florence’s cousin, Naomi Kareem, revealed that Morgak’s eagerness to marry stemmed from a desire for Florence to care for his ailing parents. However, the rushed wedding plans and financial expectations from Morgak’s family caused strain within Florence’s family.

One of Morgak’s relatives, Gotau Nenpoji Gotau, confirmed that the disagreement arose when Florence insisted that Morgak rent an apartment before the wedding. Despite Morgak’s efforts to reason with her and abide by their initial agreement, Florence remained adamant, leading to the cancellation of the wedding.
