President Tinubu has named a new Auditor-General of the Federation.

President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has given his approval for the appointment of Shaakaa Chira as the substantive Auditor-General of the Federation, as recommended by the Federal Civil Service Commission (FCSC).

The announcement was made by Presidential spokesman Ajuri Ngelale in a statement released on Friday, October 20. The statement further indicated that this appointment was made under the authority vested in the President by Section 86 of the 1999 Constitution (Amended). Ngelale noted that the President endorsed Chira’s appointment following a comprehensive screening process by the Federal Civil Service Commission (FCSC), which identified him as the most qualified candidate, having also achieved the highest score in the examination among all qualified candidates for the position.

The statement concluded, “President Bola Tinubu anticipates that the new Auditor-General will uphold the confidence placed in him and meet the high expectations that Nigerians have regarding the implementation of the Renewed Hope Agenda of his administration.”
