The Confederation of African Football (CAF) has increased the prize money for the winner of the 2024 Women’s Africa Cup of Nations (WAFCON). Additionally, CAF raised the total prize pool for the WAFCON 2024 finals by 45%.
Under the new prize structure, the tournament winner will receive \$1 million, while the runners-up will take home $500,000. The third and fourth-placed teams will earn $350,000 and \$300,000 respectively.
Quarter-finalists will be awarded $200,000 each, while teams finishing third and fourth in their groups will receive $150,000 and $125,000 respectively.
Morocco is set to host the biennial tournament from Saturday, July 5 to Saturday, July 26. South Africa’s Banyana Banyana enter the competition as the defending champions.
