An American Idol executive and her husband were found murdered inside their $5 million mansion in Los Angeles.
According to authorities, 70-year-old Robin Kaye, an award-winning music supervisor for the popular talent show, and her husband, Thomas Deluca, were fatally shot in their Encino home on Monday, July 14.
Officers with the Los Angeles Police Department were called to a six-bedroom mansion in Encino on Monday, July 14, to conduct a welfare check — only to discover a gruesome scene: American Idol music supervisor Robin Kaye and her husband, Thomas Deluca, both 70, had been fatally shot in the head.
According to a report by TMZ, authorities observed blood near the front entrance of the home before forcibly entering through a window. Inside, they found the couple deceased. Police have confirmed the case is now being investigated as a double homicide.

The LAPD had reportedly been called to the same residence just days earlier, on Thursday, following reports of an attempted break-in. A suspect, possibly armed, was allegedly seen jumping a fence around the property, neighbors told reporters.
This most recent welfare check was prompted after family and neighbors hadn’t heard from the couple in four days.
Robin Kaye had served as music supervisor for American Idol for the past 15 seasons — contributing to over 300 episodes, according to her IMDb page. Her work earned her multiple honors from the Guild of Music Supervisors. She also held music roles on a variety of high-profile productions, including Lip Sync Battle, Hollywood Game Night, Worn Stories, and the NAACP Image Awards.
Additional credits in her career included work on Miss USA, Miss Universe, American Inventor, The Singing Bee, Dance Your A* Off*, Your Chance to Dance, The Dance Scene, Adventures of Power, and Crashed.
Authorities have not released further information on possible suspects, and the investigation remains ongoing.
