Isaac Fayose has criticised supporters of the All Progressives Congress (APC), claiming that even those defending President Bola Tinubu’s administration are feeling the impact of Nigeria’s economic hardship.

In a video shared online, Fayose said he recently announced a ₦1 million giveaway, inviting interested Nigerians to submit their account numbers. According to him, more than 10,000 people responded, including Lere Olayinka, Senior Special Assistant on Public Communications and Social Media to the Minister of the Federal Capital Territory, Nyesom Wike.

Fayose said he chose to give the ₦1 million to Olayinka to demonstrate that even supporters of the ruling party were not insulated from the country’s economic challenges.

He questioned why APC supporters would seek financial assistance through giveaways if, as they claimed, the economy was performing well.

Fayose further argued that Nigerians, regardless of their political affiliations, face similar economic realities, noting that both supporters and critics of the government buy fuel from the same market, use the same hospitals and contend with the rising cost of living.
