Arsenal have reportedly reached a deal to sign long-time target Martin Zubimendi from Real Sociedad.
The Spanish defensive midfielder has been on the Gunners’ radar for over a year, with talks effectively progressing since the January transfer window. According to Fabrizio Romano, Zubimendi has now given a verbal agreement to join Arsenal, who are prepared to activate his £51 million release clause.

The 26-year-old will be the first major signing under new sporting director Andrea Berta, who arrived from Atlético Madrid in March following the departures of Edu and interim director Jason Ayto.
Widely regarded as one of Europe’s top midfielders, Zubimendi played a pivotal role in Spain’s Euro 2024 triumph and is expected to bring composure and strength to Arsenal’s midfield.
