Catholic priest questions African priests who reject African names during baptism

A Catholic priest has questioned why Catholic priests from Africa reject African names during baptism.

He claimed that no European priest has ever rejected an African name, rather, those rejections have all been from African priests.

He wrote: From all the reports I have received in recent times, no European priest has ever rejected the use of an African name for baptism. All the rejections so far have come from our own native priests.

“That brings me to the question: who taught us to hate ourselves?”
