Magaji Dahiru Zarewa, a Kano House of Assembly member elected on the platform of the All Progressives Congress (APC), has been sacked by an Election Petition Tribunal sitting in Kano on Friday July 24.

Zarewa was sacked for failing to resign from his position as the Managing Director of the Kano Drugs and Consumables Supply Agency, 30 days to the election.

The tribunal ordered the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) to issue a certificate of return to the first runner-up, Jibril Ismail Falgore of the Peoples Democratic Party.

With this ruling, PDP now has 13 members while the ruling APC has 27 members in the Kano state House of Assembly.
