“Cut off some friends and family when you start earning well to protect your finances” — Skit maker Zicsaloma

Nigerian skit maker Zicsaloma has advised people who begin earning significantly more to set boundaries with friends and relatives who are lazy, entitled or constantly dependent on them financially.

He said some people expect successful friends to keep giving them money simply because they were present during their difficult days. According to him, such individuals may spend whatever they receive and return repeatedly for more financial assistance.

Zicsaloma also noted that earning money legitimately does not mean all of it is available to be shared, stressing that successful people still have businesses to support, investments to make and their financial future to plan for.

He urged people to distance themselves from relationships that continually drain their resources, warning that unchecked financial dependence could eventually pull them back into hardship.
