Nigerian music star Davido has triggered a wave of reactions online after hitting back at critics who question his family wealth and generational privilege.
The singer, in a public service announcement shared on his official X account, unapologetically stated that he plans to enjoy both the wealth he has built through his music career and the fortune inherited from his billionaire father.
Davido also took a swipe at those who criticise him for benefiting from his family’s wealth, ending his post with a blunt message telling anyone unhappy about his generational privilege to “go and slap their poor father.”
His remarks have since sparked heated conversations across social media, with users debating issues surrounding inheritance, privilege, personal achievement and the role of family wealth in the entertainment industry.
