DSS arrests suspected gunrunner with 850 live bullets in Cross River State

Operatives of the Department of State Services have arrested a suspected gunrunner, Kelvin Ebikeniye Dugo, after authorities recovered 850 rounds of live ammunition in his possession.

The arrest took place on Monday at Ivara Esu Estate in Odukpani Local Government Area, shortly after Dugo received the shipment.

According to security sources, the ammunition was reportedly supplied by another suspected gunrunner, Azenda Barnabas, also known as Jagaban, who is based in Aliade, Benue State. The weapons were concealed inside food supplies, and two empty AK-47 magazines were also recovered.

The DSS stated that the operation is part of ongoing nationwide efforts to dismantle arms trafficking networks and limit the circulation of illegal weapons.
