Former Manchester United defender Rio Ferdinand believes that Nigerian striker Victor Osimhen may be holding out for a move to Old Trafford this summer.
Ferdinand made the comment following reports that Osimhen had rejected a lucrative offer from Saudi Arabian side Al Hilal, fueling speculation about a potential transfer to the Premier League or the possibility of remaining with Galatasaray.
Speaking on his Rio Ferdinand Presents podcast, the former England international voiced his preference for United to make Osimhen a top target.
“They already know who I want. The people already know who I want — Osimhen,” Ferdinand said. “It looks like he’s turned down Al Hilal. He must be waiting for Manchester United.
“I don’t know if United will go for him, but if they don’t get him, then Gyökeres — I’ll take him.”
Osimhen, who enjoyed a standout season at Galatasaray, remains one of the most in-demand forwards in Europe during this summer’s transfer window.
