Five people have been killed in a fresh attack in Fan District of Barkin Ladi Local Government Area.
The incident, which occurred on Sunday night, May 3, 2026, has heightened tensions, with residents expressing growing concern about security in the area.
A local resident, Bot James, said the victims were ambushed around 9 p.m. while returning home. According to him, the attackers opened fire indiscriminately, killing four people on the spot, while another later died in the hospital.
The Publicity Secretary of the Berom Youth Moulders, Rwang Tengwong, also confirmed the incident to journalists in Jos, describing the attack as both unfortunate and condemnable.
He urged security agencies to step up efforts to safeguard lives and property in the area and to prevent further violence.
