The Jigawa Hisbah Board has confiscated and destroyed alcohol valued at N5.8 million in Kazaure Local Government Area.
The state Hisbah Commander, Ibrahim Dahiru, revealed this during an interview with the News Agency of Nigeria in Dutse on Monday, July 21, 2025.
He explained that the operation, led by Kazaure Chairman Alhaji Mansur Dabuwa, involved the destruction of 400 cartons of alcohol seized during multiple raids on bars across the area.
Dahiru emphasized that the consumption of beer is prohibited throughout Jigawa State and pledged that the Hisbah Board will continue to combat immoral activities, including alcohol consumption.
He called on residents to assist the board by providing crucial information to help enforce the law effectively.
Additionally, the commander urged the public to refrain from engaging in vices and immoral behaviors that threaten societal well-being.
