Speaking during an interview with Biola Bayo on Talk to B, Adedoja disclosed that her cousin introduced her to Hakeem because of her hardworking nature. She said they initially worked together in Port Harcourt before travelling to Enugu and Abia for other jobs, during which their relationship reportedly became romantic.
According to Adedoja, Hakeem admired her dedication and often referred to her as his treasure.
However, she claimed their relationship began to deteriorate when she expressed her desire to get married and start a family of her own.
“What caused our fight was when I felt like I wanted to settle down and marry. Hakeem declined that he doesn’t want me to settle down,” she said.
Adedoja further alleged that Hakeem argued that her hardworking and independent nature made her like a man, suggesting she did not need a husband.
She described his alleged stance as selfish, claiming he wanted her to remain romantically involved with him while he continued living with his wife and children.
When asked whether their disagreement over marriage ultimately led to their separation, Adedoja confirmed, saying, “Yes, because he doesn’t want me to marry and have my own family.”
