Former Lagos State Governor and ex-Minister of Works, Babatunde Fashola, has dismissed speculation about a possible presidential bid, saying he has no interest in contesting for Nigeria’s highest office.
Fashola made the remark during an interview on TVC, where he was asked whether he was considering running for president.
Responding directly, the former minister simply said: “No.”
When pressed further, he replied with a smile:
“President of what? I’m president at home.”
Reflecting on his more than two decades in public service, Fashola described his career as a rare privilege and expressed hope that his experience would inspire younger Nigerians to believe in the opportunities the country offers.
“My journey has been an unimaginable privilege, and I hope that it, in some way, inspires another generation about the possibilities of this country,” he said.
