Individual Apprehended in Jigawa with Three Illegally Acquired Rams

The Jigawa State Police Command has apprehended an individual and successfully retrieved three stolen rams.

According to DSP Lawan Shiisu Adam, the spokesperson for the command, the incident occurred on Tuesday, September 26, 2023. A patrol team intercepted a vehicle transporting the pilfered rams in Yanbaro village. However, when the vehicle’s three occupants noticed the police presence, they swiftly abandoned the vehicle and fled the scene, leaving the driver behind.

Subsequently, the driver was apprehended and subsequently admitted to his involvement in the unlawful possession of the stolen rams.

The official statement from the police reads as follows: “On 24/9/2023 at about 0430hrs, information received from a reliable source had it that, one Opel vehicle was seen with three occupants conveying three Rams suspected to be stolen along Yanbaro village S/Tankarkar to Gumel axis.”

Upon receiving this report, the patrol team from Sule Tankarkar Division promptly took action and intercepted the vehicle. During this operation, the three occupants managed to escape and evade capture, fleeing to unknown destinations. Nevertheless, the driver was apprehended, and the three stolen rams were successfully recovered.

The arrested driver has confessed to receiving the stolen rams from the fleeing suspects. As a result, the suspect has been presented in court to face the legal consequences of his actions, as indicated by the Public Relations Officer (PPRO).
