The Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB) has released detailed statistics for the 2025 Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination (UTME), highlighting the performance of candidates across the country.
A total of 1,955,069 candidates participated in the 2025 UTME, with more than 1.5 million scoring below 200. The data also showed that 4,756 candidates scored above 320, and 7,658 scored between 300 and 319.
Additionally, JAMB disclosed that 40,247 underage candidates were permitted to sit for the exam based on their exceptional academic abilities. However, only 467 of these underage candidates—about 1.16%—met the board’s performance criteria for exceptional achievement. These candidates will undergo three further assessment stages before their final evaluations are complete.
