Suspected kidnappers have abducted a young man identified as Nanmwa Turfa in Plateau State.

Turfa was reportedly taken while returning home from Bokkos Local Government Area after sitting for the Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB) examination. His abductors are said to be demanding a ransom of N20 million for his release.

In a related development, troops under Sector 5 of Operation Enduring Peace (OPEP) have launched a search-and-rescue mission following the abduction of a civilian in Bokkos LGA, although it remains unclear whether the victim is Turfa.

Security analyst Zagazola Makama reported that the incident occurred around 5:00 a.m. on April 20 in Maiduna village, where suspected kidnappers whisked the victim away to an unknown location.

Sources said troops, working alongside other security agencies, responded promptly and carried out search operations in the area but did not encounter the assailants.

The sources added that the victim’s family later confirmed contact with the kidnappers, who are demanding N1 million ransom for the victim’s release.

Efforts are ongoing to locate the suspects and secure the victim’s freedom, while security has been reinforced in the area to prevent further incidents.
