The Lagos State Government has ordered the closure of the popular Light House Club on Admiralty Way, Lekki, due to repeated violations of noise pollution regulations.
Tokunbo Wahab, the State Commissioner for Environment and Water Resources, announced that a joint enforcement team from the Lagos State Environmental Sanitation Corps (KAI) and the Lagos State Environmental Protection Agency (LASEPA) carried out the operation on Monday, July 21.
In a statement, Wahab said:
“Our joint enforcement team from KAI and LASEPA took decisive action against Light House Club on Admiralty Way, Lekki. The club was sealed for breaching Lagos State noise pollution laws after multiple warnings were ignored by its management.”
The Commissioner added that the closure, which began Monday morning, will remain in effect until the club meets stringent compliance standards.
“This includes installing proper soundproofing and securing confirmation from LASEPA that noise levels meet approved limits,” Wahab explained.
