Man arrested after ramming car into White House security barrier

Police have confirmed that a man was taken into custody late Tuesday, October 21, after crashing his vehicle into a security barrier near the White House.

According to the U.S. Secret Service, the incident occurred at 10:37 p.m. when the driver rammed into a security gate at a White House entrance. Officers from the agency’s uniformed division swiftly apprehended the suspect at the scene.

In a statement, the Secret Service said the vehicle was searched and no threat was found. Authorities have not yet released further details about the driver, the circumstances of the crash, or any possible motive.
