A 32-year-old laborer, Kevin Roberts, has been sentenced to one month in prison for assaulting his wife in Guyana.
Roberts, from Queenstown, Essequibo Coast, was charged with assaulting his wife, Annalisa Francis, on Sunday, March 9, 2025, in Queenstown.
The Guyana Police Force, in a statement issued on Sunday, March 16, confirmed that the charge was filed under Section 21 of the Summary Jurisdiction Offences Act, Chapter 8:02.
The case was heard on Thursday, March 13, 2025, at the Suddie Magistrate’s Court before Magistrate Tamieka Clarke, where Roberts pleaded guilty to the charge. He was subsequently sentenced to one month in prison.
