On Monday, March 11, numerous individuals were reportedly abducted when terrorists launched an attack on Buda, a community situated in the Kajuru Local Government Area of Kaduna State.

Former lawmaker Senator Shehu Sani took to social media on Tuesday, March 12, to confirm the latest assault. He disclosed that at least 40 individuals were kidnapped during the attack on Buda Village. Senator Sani condemned the incident, stating, “The attack and kidnapping of another 40 people last night in Buda Village, Kajuru Local Government, Kaduna State, was another condemnable act.”

According to a resident of the area, Dauda Kajuru, the bandits descended upon the village in significant numbers on Monday night, around 11:45 pm, and began firing indiscriminately. Kajuru recounted the terrifying ordeal, mentioning that although the bandits intended to abduct a large number of people, the swift response of nearby soldiers curtailed the casualties. He revealed that his siblings were among those abducted, and as of the following morning, there was no information about their whereabouts.

Another resident, Lawal Abdullahi, who managed to escape the attack, confirmed that a total of 61 individuals were abducted. Abdullahi lamented that men, women, and children, including a nursing mother with two-week-old infants, were among the victims. He expressed his distress over the situation, emphasizing the urgent need for the government to intervene and ensure the safe return of their loved ones.
