A motor apprentice, working alongside a trailer driver, has been hospitalized following a mishap in Ogbomoso, Oyo State.
On Saturday afternoon, March 16, a tanker carrying petrol skidded and toppled while attempting to negotiate the Takie roundabout in Ogbomoso.
The apprentice sustained severe leg injuries in the accident.
He has been transported to Ladoke Akintola University of Technology Teaching Hospital in Ogbomoso for medical attention.
An official from the Oyo State Road Transport Management Agency (ORTMA), who preferred anonymity, verified the incident. He stated, “One of the motor apprentices suffered significant leg injuries in the accident but has been conveyed to LAUTECH Teaching Hospital. Our personnel swiftly responded to the scene, coordinating traffic and crowd control measures to avert potential hazards such as fire outbreaks or additional accidents.”
