NDLEA destroys 8.2 kg of confiscated illegal drugs in Yobe.

The National Drug Law Enforcement Agency (NDLEA) has successfully destroyed 8,166.95 kilograms of confiscated illicit drugs in Yobe State, marking a major achievement in the ongoing battle against drug trafficking and abuse. The destruction ceremony took place on Tuesday, October 14, 2025, at Kasaisa village near the Gujba Maiduguri new bypass. The event was led by NDLEA Chairman Brigadier General Mohammed Buba Marwa and was supported by Governor Mai Mala Buni.

The destroyed  substances included 6,791.249 kilograms of cannabis sativa, 1,375.65 kilograms of psychotropic substances, 0.04 kilograms of cocaine, and 0.012 kilograms of heroin.

Since its establishment in 2003, the NDLEA Yobe State Command has made significant strides, seizing over 16,011.13 kilograms of illegal drugs, arresting 2,345 suspects, and achieving 349 convictions.
