The newly crowned 44th Olubadan of Ibadanland, Oba Rashidi Adewolu Ladoja, has called on President Bola Tinubu to fulfill the long-standing desire of the Ibadan people by creating a separate Ibadan State out of the current Oyo State.
Oba Ladoja made the appeal on Friday, September 26, shortly after receiving the Staff of Office from Oyo State Governor Seyi Makinde.
Delivering the message on behalf of his people, the former governor said:
“My people sent me with a message to Mr. President. Mr. President, they said the creation of Ibadan State is their priority.”
He further urged President Tinubu to ensure that the demand becomes a reality before the end of his current term in 2027.
