The presidential candidate of the National Democratic Congress (NDC), Peter Obi, has said he has no evidence to substantiate his claim that he won the 2023 presidential election, although he remains convinced that he was the actual winner.

Obi contested the election under the platform of the Labour Party.

During a recent interview with BBC Africa, the former Anambra State governor was asked whether he had evidence to support his claim that he won the 2023 presidential election.

Responding, Obi said, “There’s no evidence. Everything is not based on evidence.”

He, however, immediately reaffirmed his position, stating, “I won the election and that’s where I will end.”

Obi was also questioned about his repeated assertion that the 2023 election was rigged, despite the courts dismissing his legal challenges to the declared outcome.

“I don’t like going back to the past. I sustain what I said,” Obi responded.
