Speaking during an interview on Arise Television’s Prime Time programme on Tuesday night, October 7, Galadima alleged that opposition candidates at the state and federal levels were being offered between N50 million and N200 million, depending on the position, alongside vehicles in some cases.
According to him, the alleged payments are intended to discourage competitive contests and enable APC candidates to secure elective positions without facing strong opposition.
“Every member of the House of Assembly who agrees to forfeit his ticket for the APC candidate is currently being given N50 million, and members of the House of Representatives will be given N200 million with a car,” Galadima alleged.
He further claimed that the alleged financial inducements were being coordinated from Abuja, alleging that a woman from Zamfara State was distributing the money to opposition figures willing to withdraw from the race.
“There’s a lady from Zamfara State who is sharing the money in a hotel here in Abuja,” he alleged.
Galadima also claimed that senior APC officials were aware of the alleged operation. He cited an alleged recent meeting between the woman and APC National Chairman, Professor Nentawe Yilwatda, during which, he claimed, some candidates submitted letters of resignation after receiving payments.
The allegations come as political parties and prospective candidates begin preparations for the 2027 general elections.
