The Kaduna State Police Command has banned all political celebrations and rallies for or against the election results of the state’s concluded presidential and National Assembly elections.
The ban was placed on all supporters of political parties across the 23 local government areas in the state.
The ban was disclosed in a statement titled, ‘General election: Ban on celebrations and rallies by political party supporters,’ issued in Kaduna on Wednesday.
This statement follows the announcement of the Independent National Electoral Commission, declaring the All Progressives Congress presidential candidate, Bola Tinubu, as the winner of the presidential election.
The statement reads, “The Nigeria Police Force, Kaduna State Command, wishes to notify the general public that all forms of celebrations and rallies by political party supporters for or against winners/losers of the just concluded Presidential and National Assembly elections have been banned in the State.”
Muhammad Jalige, who is in charge of public relations for the state police, said that the command would not let anyone break the ban or cause law and order to break down in any way.
Jalige said, “Any deliberate act to violate the ban or cause breakdown of law and order under whatever guise will face the full wrath of the law as security agencies have been deployed and directed to ensure full enforcement.
