President Bola Tinubu will depart Abuja on Saturday, June 28, 2025, for a two-nation visit to Saint Lucia and Brazil, according to a statement by presidential media aide, Bayo Onanuga.

The President’s first stop will be Saint Lucia, where he is scheduled to undertake a state visit aimed at strengthening Nigeria’s engagement with Caribbean nations and advancing South-South cooperation.

During his time in Saint Lucia, President Tinubu will hold courtesy visits with Governor-General Cyril Errol Melchiades Charles and Prime Minister Philip Pierre. One of the key highlights of the visit will be his address to a special joint session of the Saint Lucian Senate and House of Assembly, to be held at the William Jefferson Clinton Ballroom, Sandals Grande, Gros Islet.

Also invited to the special session are Heads of Government of the Organisation of Eastern Caribbean States (OECS), senior government officials, members of the diplomatic corps, the Nigerian community in Saint Lucia, and OECS Director-General Dr. Didacus Jules.

Following the joint session, President Tinubu will host a high-level working luncheon with OECS leaders. The discussions will focus on enhancing cooperation between Nigeria and the OECS in areas such as economic partnerships, cultural ties, and shared prosperity.

In addition, the President will visit the Sir Arthur Lewis Community College in Castries to promote academic exchange and strengthen educational collaboration between Nigeria and the Caribbean.

The visit is expected to open new avenues for cooperation in infrastructure development, youth empowerment, education, and diplomatic relations.

After completing his engagements in Saint Lucia, President Tinubu will travel to Brazil to attend the 17th BRICS Summit in Rio de Janeiro, scheduled for July 6–7, 2025. He will attend at the invitation of Brazilian President Luiz Inácio Lula da Silva, representing Nigeria as a ‘partner country’—a designation that reflects deeper engagement than previous guest status.
