Qatar has reversed its initial decision and agreed to host the proposed business and investment forum during President Bola Tinubu’s upcoming state visit to the country from March 2 to March 3. Initially, Qatar declined the forum, citing the unavailability of its Minister of Commerce and Industry, Mohammed Bin Hamad Al-Thani. However, in a letter addressed to the Nigerian government, the Ministry of Commerce and Industry in Qatar apologized for the rejection and confirmed the hosting of the event. The new development was conveyed in a memo dated February 23, 2024, from the Qatar embassy to Nigeria’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs. The memo states that the Qatar Chamber of Commerce will host the event on March 3, 2024, as proposed by the Nigerian side.
