A man identified as John Simon has been arrested for allegedly stealing iron rods from an active construction site in Agbor, Delta State.

Simon, who hails from Plateau State, was apprehended over the weekend by members of the Agbor Gha-Ihun vigilante group. He disclosed that the construction site is located near the residence where he works as a security guard on Iyogo Road in the Ogbesogan area of Ime-Obi, Agbor.

During questioning, Simon confessed he was not acting alone. He revealed that another security guard—also named John and also from Plateau State—was involved in the theft. However, the second suspect reportedly fled and is still at large.

Simon expressed remorse for his actions, claiming he was influenced by his friend and pleaded for leniency.

Chief Sunday Ibude, Chief Security Officer of the Agbor Gha-Ihun vigilante group, reaffirmed their commitment to safeguarding Agbor and its environs. He warned that anyone caught engaging in criminal activities will face the full weight of the law.
