Dickson Chollom, a member of the Plateau State House of Assembly representing Barkin Ladi Constituency, has dismissed the continued use of the term “unknown gunmen” to describe recent attacks, stating that those responsible are now identified.

Chollom, who also serves as Chairman of the House Committee on Works and Transport, made this known during a sympathy and fact-finding visit to Heipang District in Barkin Ladi Local Government Area after an attack that left three people dead and one critically injured.

According to him, one suspect has been arrested and has confessed, providing details about others involved in the attack.

“We will no longer accept the term ‘unknown gunmen.’ One of the perpetrators has been arrested and has made confessions about those who took part in this heinous act,” he said.

He stressed that the issue must not be treated as routine, emphasizing that residents of Barkin Ladi and Plateau State deserve openness and justice.

Chollom also urged security agencies to disclose the outcomes of their investigations, including the identities of suspects and where they are being held, to reassure the public that justice is being actively pursued.
