Tanker Explosion on Lagos-Ibadan Expressway Injures Two, Destroys Vehicles

Two people were injured on Tuesday, June 11, following a fuel-laden tanker explosion along the Lagos-Ibadan Expressway.

The incident occurred at the NASFAT area of the expressway after the tanker, carrying petroleum products, lost control and fell, triggering a massive explosion.

According to Babatunde Akinbiyi, spokesperson for the Ogun State Traffic Compliance and Enforcement Corps (TRACE), the injured victims have been taken to the Olabisi Onabanjo University Teaching Hospital in Shagamu for treatment.

The explosion also affected six vehicles—four trucks, a commercial bus, and a Toyota Camry.
