Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) chieftain Dele Momodu has cautioned that President Bola Tinubu’s removal in the 2027 elections is unlikely unless opposition parties come together in a united front.
Speaking on a monthly program aired by the Broadcasting Corporation of Oyo State, Momodu stressed that the PDP, currently fractured, has slim chances of overcoming the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC).
“The APC is jittery about the PDP. They know it’s the only party capable of challenging their dominance in 2027,” he said. “That’s why APC leaders at all levels are working to divide and weaken the PDP.”
He further alleged that some members within the PDP are being manipulated to sow discord and destabilize the party from within.
Momodu emphasized that only a broad coalition of political parties can realistically mount a credible challenge to Tinubu’s re-election bid.
“Whoever hopes to contest credibly against the current president must come from a different region of the country. Regional dynamics will play a key role in the next election,” he added.
