The nursing and geology programs at Ondo University have received approval from the National Universities Commission (NUC).

The Vice-Chancellor of Olusegun Agagu University of Science and Technology (OAUSTECH), Okitipupa, Ondo State, has expressed readiness to welcome the pioneer students of the newly approved programmes. The National Universities Commission (NUC) has granted approval for BSc Nursing Science and Applied Geology programs at the university.

The approval was conveyed to the Vice-Chancellor, Prof. Temi Ologunorisa, through a letter from the NUC dated June 13, signed by Dr. B. N. Saliu, the Director of Academic Planning on behalf of the Executive Secretary of the commission. The letter, with reference No: NUC/AP/S24/Vol.1/83, confirmed the establishment of the BSc Applied Science and BSc Nursing Science programs at OAUSTECH’s main campus, effective from the 2023/2024 academic session.

The Vice-Chancellor expressed excitement upon receiving the letter and affirmed that all necessary preparations had been made for the commencement of the programs in September. Prospective candidates were advised by Prof. Ologunorisa to update their JAMB portal and change their choice of institution to OAUSTECH in order to apply for the programs.

The statement further quoted the Vice-Chancellor as assuring that OAUSTECH was fully equipped to receive the pioneer students of the newly approved programs. He pledged that the institution would continue to fulfill its mandate by providing high-quality teaching, engaging in cutting-edge research, and actively participating in the community.
