The primary suspect sought in connection with the murder of a DPO in Rivers State is reportedly feared dead.

The key suspect implicated in the murder of SP Bako Angbashim, the Divisional Police Officer (DPO) overseeing the Ahoada Police Division in Ahoada-East local government area of Rivers State, Gift David Opara, has been eliminated. Opara, also known as 2-Baba, who had been on the run since September 2023, was reportedly fatally shot during an exchange of gunfire with officers from the State Police Command on Saturday in Idu-Ekpeye community, situated in Ahoada-East LGA of the State, as reported by Leadership.
