The Transmission Company of Nigeria (TCN) has announced a scheduled power outage affecting electricity consumers in Gombe, as well as certain areas in Yola and Bauchi states. The outage is due to planned maintenance on the T1A 150MVA, 330/132/33kV transformer bay, scheduled to take place on Thursday and Friday, January 18 and 19, 2024.

During the maintenance, which will last eight hours each day from 9 am to 5 pm, TCN’s maintenance crew will conduct preventive maintenance on the specified transformer bay. To facilitate the process, the load will be transferred from the T1A 150MVA transformer to the T2A 150MVA transformer in the same substation.

The interruption in bulk power supply to Jos and Yola DisCos will occur only during the transfer period, not throughout the entire eight-hour maintenance exercise on both days. The outage will specifically affect Gombe and some parts of Yola and Bauchi states during the transfer time.

TCN assured consumers that bulk power supply through the transformer would be promptly restored immediately after completing the maintenance exercise. The company expressed regret for any inconvenience this temporary interruption may cause to electricity consumers in the affected areas.
