Tragedy as ex-Bauchi deputy governor Baba Tela loses 2 children in fatal road crash

Bauchi State Governor Bala Mohammed has expressed his heartfelt condolences to former Senator Baba Tela following the tragic death of his children in a road accident.

In a statement issued by his Special Adviser on Media and Publicity, Mukhtar Gidado, the governor, on behalf of his family, the Bauchi State Government and the people of the state, described the incident as a heartbreaking tragedy that has plunged the state into mourning.

Governor Mohammed said he received the news with profound shock and sadness, noting that the loss of two young lives in such tragic circumstances was not only devastating for Senator Baba Tela and his immediate family but also a painful loss for the entire state.

He prayed that Almighty Allah (SWT) would grant the deceased eternal rest in Aljannatul Firdaus and give their parents, family members, friends and loved ones the strength, patience and fortitude to bear the irreparable loss.

The governor urged the bereaved family to take solace in the will of Almighty Allah, reminding them that every soul will return to its Creator at the appointed time.

He also assured Senator Baba Tela of the thoughts, prayers and unwavering support of the Bauchi State Government and its people during this difficult period.

Governor Mohammed further extended his sympathies to everyone affected by the accident and prayed for the speedy recovery of those who sustained injuries.

He called on residents of Bauchi State to join him in praying for the peaceful repose of the souls of the deceased and for Allah’s comfort and mercy upon the grieving family.

According to the statement, the funeral prayer for the deceased is scheduled to take place on Sunday, July 5, 2026, at the Emir’s Palace in Bauchi by 11:00 a.m.

The governor concluded by praying that Almighty Allah (SWT) would forgive the shortcomings of the deceased, admit them into Aljannatul Firdaus, and grant comfort and strength to all those mourning their passing.
