Kebbi Hisbah arrests 25 youths in hotel raid over alleged immoral acts

Operatives of the Kebbi State Hisbah Board have arrested 25 youths in Argungu over their alleged involvement in immoral activities.

The operation was carried out by the board under the Ministry of Religious Affairs during a raid on a hotel in the town.

The board’s Director of Shariah, Sirajo Kamba, confirmed the arrests in a statement made available to the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) in Birnin Kebbi on Saturday, July 4, 2026.

“On July 3, the Kebbi Hisbah Board carried out a raid at a hotel in Argungu and successfully apprehended 25 suspects allegedly involved in immoral activities,” Kamba said.

According to him, those arrested comprised 12 males and 13 females.

He explained that the operation forms part of the board’s ongoing campaign to curb social vices, promote moral values and maintain peace and public decency across Kebbi State.

Kamba added that the suspects would be thoroughly investigated in accordance with the law, stressing that anyone found culpable would be prosecuted through the appropriate legal process.
