Tragedy strikes as gunmen claim the lives of a businessman and his driver in Rivers State.


In a tragic incident, two individuals have lost their lives in the Ubeta-Owube area of Ahoada West Local Government Area in Rivers State as a result of an attack by gunmen.

The victims, identified as Confidence Chiadikobi Franco and the driver of a commercial vehicle, were fatally shot on Saturday, June 24, 2023. Major Elleh, a former community development committee chairman of Ubarama, revealed that the victims were en route to Owube when the incident occurred.

According to Major Elleh, “We received information from reliable sources that the two victims were shot at around 11 pm in Owube, a neighboring community, located approximately one kilometer away from Ubarama. One of the victims is Confidence Chiadikobi Franco, who resided in Port Harcourt. He had purchased building materials for his father’s house, which was destroyed during a flood. Sadly, both he and the driver were gunned down by these hoodlums along Ubata.”

The spokesperson of the Rivers State Police Command, SP Grace Iringe-Koko, confirmed the killings and assured the public that investigations are underway to apprehend the perpetrators of this heinous
