Troops Nab Suspected Kidnapper, Recover Rifle at Borno Market

Troops of the 29 Task Force Brigade, working alongside members of the Civilian Joint Task Force (CJTF), have arrested a suspected kidnapper at Benisheikh Market in Kaga Local Government Area of Borno State.

The suspect, identified as Chari Modu, was apprehended on March 30, 2026, at about 4:45 p.m. following credible intelligence, sources said on Friday, April 3.

The operation also led to the recovery of an AK-47 rifle with registration number 5657218, a magazine, and N4,500.

The suspect, along with the recovered items, is now in custody as investigations continue.
