Police launch murder investigation after 19-year-old man is stabbed to death on Good Friday

Kent Police have launched a murder investigation after a 19-year-old died in a suspected stabbing in the seaside town of Whitstable on Good Friday.

Officers were called to Belmont Road following reports of a serious assault in the early hours of the morning. Emergency services arrived to find a युवक with injuries consistent with stab wounds.

An air ambulance was also dispatched, landing nearby at Westmeads Recreation Ground at around 3 a.m. Despite the efforts of paramedics, the teenager was pronounced dead at the scene.

A forensic tent has since been set up near flats on Belmont Road, and the road is expected to remain closed for several hours as investigations continue.

A police spokesperson said officers were alerted at 2:04 a.m. on Friday, April 3, 2026, and attended alongside paramedics, confirming the victim died at the scene after sustaining serious injuries.
