Operatives of the Delta State Police Command have arrested two suspected criminals and recovered firearms, live ammunition, suspected cocaine and other incriminating items during a stop-and-search operation along the Agbarho–Warri Road.

The operation was carried out on July 25, 2026, by officers attached to the Safer Highway Patrol.

The suspects, identified as 46-year-old Omini Ezeri and 42-year-old Chinedum Wagbara, both residents of Port Harcourt, Rivers State, were intercepted while travelling in a grey Mercedes-Benz ML SUV with registration number AAA 604 JZ.

According to the police, a third occupant of the vehicle, identified as God Knows Ifreke, fled into a nearby swamp during preliminary interrogation and remains at large.

Confirming the development, the Police Public Relations Officer, SP Bright Edafe, said a thorough search of the vehicle led to the recovery of two locally made Beretta pistols loaded with nine rounds of live ammunition, about 200 grams of a substance suspected to be cocaine, a walkie-talkie, a dagger, a grinder and two high-end mobile phones.

Edafe said the two suspects are in police custody, while efforts are ongoing to track down and arrest the fleeing suspect.
