A Ukrainian sniper unit has reportedly shattered the world record for the longest confirmed sniper kill, taking out Russian troops from over 13,000 feet away.
The shot was executed using a Ukrainian-made 14.5 mm “Alligator” rifle, aided by artificial intelligence and drone guidance. Military sources say the strike on August 14 resulted in the deaths of two Russian soldiers near Pokrovsk, Ukraine.
This record-breaking feat occurred amid intensified Russian assaults on Pokrovsk, a city that once had more than 60,000 residents.
The previous record was held by another Ukrainian sniper who killed a Russian soldier from approximately 12,400 feet using a high-tech rifle dubbed “Horizon’s Lord.”
Notably, this historic shot happened just one day before the high-profile summit between US President Donald Trump and Russian President Vladimir Putin in Alaska.
Meanwhile, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky is preparing to meet Trump in Washington, DC, on Monday, where the leaders are expected to discuss strategies aimed at ending the ongoing conflict.
