Lagos Electrician Dies from Electrocution

A 45-year-old electrician has died from electrocution in the Shasha area of Lagos.

The incident was confirmed by CSP Benjamin Hundeyin, spokesperson for the Lagos Police Command, on Sunday, August 17, 2025. He stated that the man was electrocuted while trying to reconnect electricity cables to a pole.

The accident occurred on August 10.

“The electrician lost his life while reconnecting electricity cables to an electric pole in Shasha. Upon receiving the report, a team of police detectives visited the scene,” the Police Public Relations Officer said.

“He was rescued and rushed to a nearby hospital, where the doctor on duty confirmed his death,” he added.

Investigations into the incident are ongoing.
