The President of Guinea-Bissau Concludes Private Meeting After Three Hours
Following a private meeting that lasted for over three hours, the President of Guinea-Bissau has departed from the location. The meeting took place between President Umaro Sissoco Embalo, who is also the Chairman of the Authority of ECOWAS Heads of State and Government, and President Bola Tinubu in Lagos.
During the meeting, President Embalo expressed the support of the Economic Community for West African States (ECOWAS) for President Tinubu’s efforts in repositioning Nigeria, the “giant of Africa.” He emphasized that the economic steps taken by Nigeria would not only benefit the country but also have a positive impact on the entire West African region.
Dele Alake, the Special Adviser on Special Duties, Communications, and Strategy to President Tinubu, stated that the visit was strictly private and marked a cordial exchange between the two African presidents. President Embalo commended President Tinubu’s recent policies, expressing his readiness to cooperate with Nigeria and President Tinubu in the future. The leaders also discussed the upcoming ECOWAS Heads of Government meeting and explored other areas of potential collaboration.
The meeting was attended by notable figures, including the Chief of Staff to the President, Femi Gbajabiamila, Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu of Lagos, and Alake, among others.
Following the conclusion of the meeting, the President of Guinea-Bissau departed from the location, marking the end of the productive and extensive private discussions.
