Following the Supreme Court’s affirmation of President Bola Tinubu’s victory, the Minister of FCT, Nyesom Wike, hosted some members of the All Progressives Congress on October 26. He pledged his commitment to mobilizing electoral support for his current leader in the upcoming election.
Wike emphasized that he had no regrets about supporting President Tinubu in the last general election, as his primary goal was to uphold equity and justice. He stressed that he owed no one an apology and promised to be inclusive, refusing to discriminate against anyone based on religion, ethnicity, or political affiliations.
He stated, “Let me make it clear to everyone: we have a duty to continue supporting Mr. President, regardless of our political party affiliation. My position is unwavering. I stand for fairness, equity, and justice.”
Wike also highlighted the importance of inclusive governance and reiterated that the President serves all of Nigeria, not just a particular party. He recognized the significance of considering the interests of Rivers State and asserted that what benefits the state is a priority.
“I am not a member of the APC, but I believed that supporting Asiwaju was necessary. Asiwaju had the capacity and political will to take action. I am not a self-serving politician; I am here for all. We are working together for President Bola Tinubu, and in the next election, our support for him will be evident,” he added.
