The Ogun State Police Command has confirmed the abduction of two worshippers from a Celestial Church in Mowe, Obafemi/Owode local government area. The incident, believed to be the work of kidnappers, occurred near Oriyarin village on Thursday, March 28.
SP Omolola Odutola, the command’s spokesperson, disclosed that the victims, identified as Oladapo Seyifunmi and Oluboboye Abiola, were taken by unidentified gunmen who fled through a dense forest behind the church.
“Investigation reports indicate that on 28/3/2024, unidentified gunmen invaded a Celestial Church near Oriyarin village, Mowe, abducting Oladapo Seyifunmi and Oluboboye Abiola before escaping through the dense forest behind the church,” stated Odutola.
Commissioner of Police Alamutu Abiodun has been briefed on the situation, and immediate measures have been ordered to mobilize security personnel to pursue the perpetrators.
